Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about selling your jewelry, diamonds, gold, watches and bags to Benadato: how the evaluation works, how you get paid, shipping from outside Denver, and what to bring.
You're paid the same day, by wire, Zelle, Venmo, check or cash. There's no limit: we've paid from a few hundred dollars to seven figures for the right piece.
Our offer is good for the length of your appointment, because gold and diamond prices move daily. Most clients who come back later receive the same number, but we can't guarantee a price after the market has moved.
Local law requires us to report and hold most purchases for 30 days, so a sale can't be reversed during that time. After that, we're happy to talk about buying it back, case by case.
Every item is evaluated by the specialist for that category: gold and vintage jewelry by Jamie, larger diamonds and rare gemstones by Michael Nedler, GIA accredited since 1981, together with Yossi, high-end watches by Yossi, coins by Keller, and luxury bags by Mor.
Most appointments take 30 to 60 minutes. Large collections or complex pieces can take up to 3 hours.
Appointments are recommended, because we work privately with one client at a time. Walk-ins are welcome whenever we're not with another client.
Yes. Colorado law requires a valid government-issued photo ID for every sale.
Yes. We buy from anywhere in the world and ship items daily. Contact us for a shipping manifest and an insured FedEx label. Once your package arrives, we'll call you with an offer within 1 to 2 business days and pay the same day you accept.
We encourage you to shop around. Bring us any written offer and we'll do our best to beat it.
We're required to report purchases to local law enforcement, as all Colorado buyers are. For questions about taxes on your sale, please talk with your tax professional.
No item is too small or too large. The only exception is silver, which we buy starting at 500 grams.
Yes. Every evaluation is free, with no obligation to sell. We test your gold, examine your diamonds and gemstones, and explain what your pieces are worth and why, so you leave better informed whether you sell or not.
Our evaluations are focused on buying, not insurance. If you need a formal written appraisal for insurance, we're happy to refer you to a trusted independent appraiser.
An insurance appraisal lists the retail replacement cost: what it would cost to buy a similar new piece in a store. That price includes the jeweler's markup, so it's always far higher than what any buyer can pay. Our offer reflects today's real resale market, and we'll show you exactly how we got there.
Your photo ID, plus anything that came with your pieces: GIA or other grading reports, receipts, previous appraisals, original boxes, and watch or bag papers. None of it is required, but it can raise your offer.
Yes. We meet with one client at a time in our private Cherry Creek office, and your visit and your items stay confidential.
Absolutely. Clients visit our Cherry Creek office from all over Colorado, including Boulder, Colorado Springs, Aurora, Fort Collins and the mountain towns. If the drive doesn't work for you, you can sell by mail with a fully insured FedEx label, and for larger collections we can arrange a private visit.
