How We Price a Gold Bracelet
Karat and Weight
Look for a stamp on the clasp or inside a bangle: 10K, 14K or 18K, or 417, 585 or 750. We test every bracelet with professional equipment rather than relying on the stamp, then weigh it in grams on a calibrated scale. Weight times purity gives the pure gold content, and that times today’s spot price gives the melt value.
Solid or Hollow
Two bangles of the same size can hold very different amounts of gold. A hollow bangle is light for its size, a solid one can weigh several times more. The scale settles it, in front of you.
Stones
